Bathroom Updates on a Budget

If you’re thinking about putting your house on the market, then updating your bathroom is a great idea. When people look at homes, bathrooms and kitchens are two major factors in their decision to purchase. Last month, we showed you some easy upgrades you can make to your kitchens and this week we want to share some tips for your bathroom upgrades on a budget.

#1 Replace Out-Dated Faucets

It might not seem like it, but faucets can have a major impact in your bathroom. That’s because faucets are a quick and easy tell-tale sign as to whether or not a home is “up to date”. If your faucets are old, it’s definitely worth the investment to switch them out for a more recent-look.

Pro tip: If you don’t want to actually buy new faucets, you can now buy a spray paint intended for metallic projects. It’s an easy weekend project that will give your bathroom a cheap, but expensive looking update.

#2 Get a New Mirror

Mirrors can make wonderful statements in your bathroom without having to spend a whole lot of money. A beautiful mirror above a vanity can make a powerful statement. As a good rule of thumb, when you’re updating your bathroom, you want to make it look as big as you possibly can. For this reason, mirrors are a wonderful solution because they alter a buyer’s perspective of the room, making even the smallest of spaces seem larger.

Don’t these non-traditional mirrors make such a cool statement in this bathroom?

#3 Bye Bye Dark Walls

Dark walls can make bathrooms seem cavernous. Don’t let future home buyers walk into your bathroom and feel claustrophobic. One of the easiest ways to make a space feel more open is to paint your bathroom a brighter, more neutral color. One of the biggest trends you’ll notice this season is the reappearance of white paint choices. White is so popular right now because it’s simplistic and under-whelming.

We absolutely love the way that these white walls make this galley bathroom appear more open and welcoming. What do you think?
