A Deposit Worth Spending

A mentor recently asked what we would do if we had a bank account that received $86,400 every morning, but didn’t carry a balance from day to day.  In essence, you have to spend the amount in its entirety or lose it.  How would we treat that account?  Would we let any of that money disappear?  How would we feel if we missed an opportunity to use it?  Then, we were reminded, each one of us does have such an account, but it is not financial.  Each day we are given 86,400 seconds to spend as we please, but we can’t save them or get them back once they’ve been used.  Are we wise with those seconds?  Do we lose seconds to activities of futility?  Do we invest them in others and our passions?  How will you spend your next 86,400 seconds?
